The Frierss family was awarded 18 gold medals at the 22nd international competition for meat and sausage products, so called "ÖFA" in Wels, for the outstanding quality of their products. Already for the second time the prize for the best series goes to Villach.
"We are very proud of the highest quality award for our specialities from the independent international jury of experts, a beautiful recognition of our claim to quality. 120 years of experience, the best regional meat quality and traditional family recipes guarantee the highest quality and first-class taste," says Managing Director Rudolf Frierss.
Family Frierss received top marks for its classics such as the fine Extrawurst, Mortadella, Original Kärntner Hauswürstel, Kärntner Bergsalami or Kärntner Schinkenspeck and also for the new alpine spreads "Sasaka Chili" and "Pumpkin Seed".
More extravagant new products were also awarded top marks, such as the truffle mortadella, veal liver sausage with truffle, the Nock-Land whisky ham, which is refined with single malt from the Wolfram Ortner distillery in Bad Kleinkirchheim, or the new mountain DUROC-sausage. Frierss Pumpkin Seed Ham was honoured for its extraordinary craftsmanship, which convinces connoisseurs and connoisseurs with its attractive pumpkin seed coating and fine nutty flavour.
Every two years the competition is organized by the Federal Guild of the Food Industry and the Food Academy of the Austrian Trade. This year, more than 60 butchers from Austria, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Germany presented 756 products to the jury of twenty international experts.
