Frierss wins Austrian product innovation award "Product Champion" for its fennel salami (category "counter") at the AMA Meat Award Gala 2017!

For the 16th time, the best of the meat and sausage industry were chosen with this innovation award! After a pre-selection by the readers of the trade magazine "PRODUKT", a top-class jury of experts determined the final winners according to strict sensory criteria such as appearance, cut, consistency, smell and taste, but also according to packaging, presentation, degree of innovation, market opportunities and marketing activities.

CHAMPION PRODUCT for fennel salami

Frierss fennel salami is a special salami speciality, an exciting composition of the best local, particularly lean pork with a delicate spice composition and wild fennel seeds. The secret lies in the particularly slow, traditional maturing process of at least 12 weeks until it unfolds its full aroma. The air-dried fennel salami convinces connoisseurs and connoisseurs with its elegance of white noble mould and its delicate taste with a subtle fennel note. Its rustic cut makes the fennel salami a highlight in every delicatessen counter! The special quality is confirmed by the gold medal of DLG 2017.

Frierss is regarded throughout Austria as a prime example of the highest salami art, and twice in its family history Frierss was awarded the gold trophy in the raw sausage category at SÜFFA 2014. The variety of raw sausage and salami specialities at Frierss is large: whether coarse-grained, rustic and tasty, salamis smoked over beech wood and spicy juniper berries or delicate noble mould salami from the Italian line. These are typically softer in bite, more fresh and naturally matured in white noble mould. Here, on the one hand, the proximity to the salami country of origin Italy is recognizable, on the other hand, in grandfather Rudolf Frierss' pioneering spirit and his great passion for Italy.
